🎬Day Four Recap | Closing Night

What a beautiful way to end Desertscape! 🥰

Our final day was filled with laughter, inspiration, and celebration from start to finish.

We kicked things off with the Laughter is the Best Medicine Shorts Block, bringing the laughs to start the day right, followed by an engaging Lunch and Learn with Stephen Mastrocola and H. Nelson Tracey.

The afternoon brought the powerful Climbing to New Heights Doc Block, reminding us all what perseverance really looks like.💪

Our Closing Night Feature Block, ended the festival on a high note before we gathered for our closing night meal, walked the red carpet, and celebrated together at the award ceremony and after party. 🎉

Thank you to everyone who joined us, supported filmmakers, and made this festival so special. 🫶

We’re filled with mixed emotions as we end out DIFF 2026.💯🥹

We're closing out Desertscape with a lineup that brings the energy, the inspiration, and the perfect finale! 🙌

10 AM - LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE SHORTS BLOCK - Come for the laughs, stay for the day! 😁

12 PM - 📌LUNCH AND LEARN WORKSHOP with Stephen Mastrocola and H. Nelson Tracey. Lunch is for badge holders only, but the panel is FREE! This will be incredibly enlightening, so don't miss it! 💫

2 PM - CLIMBING TO NEW HEIGHTS DOC BLOCK - a moving and powerful block you won't want to miss!

5 PM - CLOSING NIGHT FEATURE BLOCK - we are finishing out the festival with an amazing film from LIONSGATE. Which we're lucky to see 2 months before it's official release! Staring Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas 😍 Make sure to be there so you don't miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime chance!

7 PM - CLOSING NIGHT MEAL - Delicious food for badge holders to end out the festival!

8 PM - CLOSING NIGHT RED CARPET - come get a picture! 📸 No dress code, come as you are or get all dolled up.

Day Three was filled with so much heart and creativity, and of course, an incredibly fun after dark shorts block with tons of laughs this year!

From the delectable Hawaiian lunch, to the engaging panel and live script read, to all the amazing films we watched and friends we made. We love it!

What a day! 😍

From enlightening morning conversations to late-night cinema, Day Two took us on a full journey through the art of storytelling.

We kicked things off with our Lunch and Learn, bringing filmmakers and audiences together for insight, conversation, and inspiration.

Then came the stunning Sights and Sounds Shorts Block, proving just how powerful storytelling can be without a lot of dialogue.

The fun kept going with Movie Trivia, where film lovers showed off their knowledge and walked away with some amazing prizes. 🧠🎉Another thanks to Beau Stucki for putting that together and KINO LORBER for sponsoring this trivia and congratulations to the winners, John Hammond and H. Nelson Tracey! Your movie knowledge tops all! 👏

Our Global Shorts Block 2 brought voices and perspectives from around the world, followed by the moving and introspective Memory is a Mirror Feature Block.

We were also lucky enough to have a delectable dinner from The Imperfect Pear, paired with an insightful workshop with Jack Fessenden and Lu Robinson.
And for those who stayed up late… the Off the Beaten Frame After Dark Feature Block delivered something bold, surreal, and unforgettable.🌙
