Our Story

George Streetfest is a monthly, nightlife celebration held at Historic Downtown St. George. On the afternoon of the first Friday of every month, Main Street and Tabernacle Street close at the center of town for building concert stages and various venues designed to offer something for everyone. Dubbed “Georgefest” by many in the community, the event is an outdoor, nighttime street festival designed to promote local artists and provide a consistent and safe gathering place/event for southern Utah families on a monthly basis. The purposes of the event are to celebrate the best of southern Utah, enhance Historic Downtown, build a rich sense of culture at the heart of the City, and to provide a clean and safe nightlife entertainment options for local residents and tourists. Additionally, the event aims to celebrate the local history of a city formed in the desert by an eclectic, hard-working, international group of settlers in the late 1800s who found reprieve from the heat by gathering at the center of town for eating, singing and dancing together.

The monthly George Streetfest features a signature Main Street free concert, buskers performing for tips, and a street market featuring local artists and crafters. For adults 21 and over, the George Jazz Garden offers adult beverage service, specialty sodas and live music. Event creator is Emceesquare Media with event design by Melynda Thorpe.
