Utah Tech University Theatre This is the official page of the Theatre Program at Utah Tech University.

Prospective theatre majors choose between a performance emphasis or a technical theatre emphasis. The production program prepares a full season of plays and musicals for performance each year. Serious theatre students are expected to be involved in production activities on a continuous basis. The production program emphasizes development and application of skills, effective collaboration and professional discipline.

Teen Technical Theatre Camp starts next week! It runs June 15-26 with an AM session ($200) or All Day session ($250). Teens, ages 13-18, can learn how to make backstage magic from our very own faculty. For more information, head on over to https://theatre.utahtech.edu/camps-and-classes/

This master classes in Tech Theatre Design technical theatre trains teens in lighting, sound, scenic design, props, costume, and makeup through guided morning labs focused on portfolio development. In the afternoons, students may opt into a collaborative build lab, allowing participants to work alongside professionals on scenic elements for an upcoming production. Campers receive a crew tech shirt, professional critiques from industry mentors, and a final project and portfolio gallery showcase at the conclusion of the camp.

We are starting our summer shoutout strong with Emilia Kerbow!

Hey y’all—it’s Emilia Kerbow, recent graduate! As my first post-grad endeavor, I’m performing at SGMT in this delightful musical called Once Upon a Mattress, which just so happens to be my favorite musical! I am part of the ensemble, and I play Lady Diana, one of the queen’s ladies in waiting (as well as one of the ballerinas in the prologue). The coolest thing ever is that after a twenty-year hiatus, my mom has returned to the theatre to perform alongside me as Lady Beatrice, which has been the most special experience that I’ll never forget! This show has taught me a lot as my first musical, and I’ve learned that I’m much more capable than I think. We have a wonderful cast and the music is fantastic, so come see us put on a hilarious medieval comedy before we close 6/6!  🏰💙

Here are different projects done by Tiago Weir, Allie Snook, and Amanda Butler for Lighting Design 2!

The assignment was to do a light show with ETC Nomad Augment 3D.

They all did a fantastic job and they should be bragged about!

📍 Place: Eccles Fine Arts Center Room 156
⏰️ Audition Slots: 5 minute slots starting at 6 PM and ending at 9:55 PM on August 31st. Callbacks will be September 1st.

🎭 Please prepare a minute and a half to two minute contemporary monologue, memorized, and you must be able to do the monologue from start to finish.
