It's time! Registration opens this evening at 5:00 PM for this season's dance class. This year will be a little different. We loved having our little dancers included in the theme from last year's show, but this year we're putting them IN the show!

Our K-2nd grade dancers will learn choreography over a 6 week class that will be performed DURING our Babes in Toyland show. They'll practice on Monday evenings from 4:30-5:15 at the CAS until tech week. Then they'll get to come to dress rehearsal with the big kids and perform on the big stage December 4th and 5th!

Please be sure to read through all the details before registering your child so you know exactly what to expect. Participation will be capped at 20 dancers and last year we reached that quickly, so be sure to register soon! Sign up at sgcas.org

Unleash Your Inner Musician: Beginner Guitar Classes

We have two upcoming beginner guitar classes. One for kids between the ages of 8 and 11 and a class for us older folks 19 years old and older.

And another theatre season is underway! Auditions were last night and what an incredibly talented group of kids! So many new faces and we can't wait to see what they can do!

Our crew team spent audition night brainstorming and planning. We have a lot of creativity in this group and are looking forward to seeing how they make the stage come to life.

Hello everyone! We are so excited to announce the establishment of the CAS Instagram page, where we will follow each class and their progress through the weeks, catch sneak peeks and behind the scenes action, and get information regarding upcoming classes, performances, and other important information! We have an incredibly talented community of kids and teens and are so excited to share the accomplishments (and laughs) with friends, family, and followers.

This year we plan to post photos and videos to increase engagement, so whether to see updates on the show, to watch your child/teen as they progress in the program, or to see you and your friends get interviewed, this is the place for you! Follow and turn on notifications so you never miss a post, and don’t forget to share the news with friends and family who won’t want to miss out on the action!

It's been a very busy few weeks but here's what's going on at the CAS this week!

* Monday, August 17th, our beginner guitar class starts. Classes will be held on Monday evenings. If you're interested in signing up for that, please reach out on here or email our instructor at [email protected].

* Auditions for our Christmas theater production will be held at the Lourie Theater on Thursday, August 20th from 6-8 pm. You can still sign up for both cast and crew at www.sgcas.org

* This show does present an opportunity for us to hold another dance class for our littles! K-2nd graders will be able to sign up for a 6 week dance class beginning in October. They will perform as part of our theater production in December! We had so much fun with our Nutcracker dancers last year and can't wait to see them on the big stage! Registration for dance will open late August/early September.

* Also be on the lookout for several other classes coming soon including art/craft classes and chess classes that will be posted in the next week or two!

If you're ready to get your kids involved in music, this will be a great opportunity. On August 17th, we will begin our next round of basic guitar lessons with an opportunity for these students to also attend an advanced guitar lessons workshop in November.

This class will be open to all student ages 12 to 18.

Registration will be open starting at midnight tonight and ending at 11:59 pm on August 10th.

All students will need to provide their own guitars. Unfortunately, the one's we have had donated to us in the past were not returned.

Yesterday was day 2 of our 3rd-6th grade theatre workshop. We covered theatre etiquette, stage presence, and stage management. They had so much fun with our "what's different in this set" game and in this pic you can see they also got to set their own scene to try to stump the volunteers! Excited for day 3!

Also, a huge thanks to Woodland Middle School for giving us a table at their registration event yesterday. We're so excited to work with our schools to make sure all our kids get the best opportunities!

Our 3rd-6th graders started their theatre workshop this week. They did a fantastic job with audition tips, cold reads and stage directions! Can't wait to see how far they come this week! A big thanks to our "big kids" for sharing their experience and being so welcoming to our younger ones!

A couple of reminders!

Registration is open for all participants now! Please remember there are a limited number of spots available.

Those who are registered are guaranteed a place in the production. Auditions are strictly for assigning roles, not determining who gets one.

No child will be turned away due to inability to pay. You may apply for a financial scholarship on our website!
