Augustine, Florida celebrates local hometown hero and recording artist Gamble Rogers, who died while attempting to save a drowning swimmer in 1991. The Gamble Rogers Folk Festival is dedicated to commemorating the life and music of Gamble Rogers, whose passion for balladry, storytelling, and the oral tradition have shaped American folk music. Its mission is to keep the folk music tradition alive f

or future generations. The non-profit Gamble Rogers Folk Festival hosts a 3-day family friendly music event held each spring, now in its 27th year! It gives back to music programs at area schools and holds a youth music contest at the festival each year. Additionally, The St. Johns Cultural Council and Gamble Rogers Folk Festival have partnered to present "Live from The Waterworks", a concert series in St. Augustine Florida on the third Saturday of each month! Guy Davis - American Roots Artist takes the stage at The Waterworks one week from tonight! ๐ŸŽถ

Son of actors Ruby Dee and Ossie Davis, Guy Davis is a renowned American blues musician, actor, and songwriter. He is recognized for his authentic blues sound infused with elements of folk, rock, and world music. Davis has received two Grammy nominations and multiple Blues Foundation nominations for his music, as well as the Keeping the Blues Alive Award for his acting work. He has performed with and opened for numerous notable musicians. He has also developed an educational program and teaches master classes on blues music.
