WEIRDEST BLOCK PARTY at Ripley’s on Saturday, July 4 in St. Augustine, Florida! ♥️🤍💙

This Fourth of July, Ripley’s Believe It or Not! St. Augustine is throwing America’s Weirdest Block Party — a free outdoor celebration packed with live entertainment, family fun, strange history, and unbelievable moments.

In addition to America 250, Ripley’s St. Augustine is also celebrating 75 years of wonder in the nation’s oldest city.

Guests can enjoy live music, face painting, giveaways, audience trivia, family contests, and a featured performance from Captain & Maybelle. The celebration will also spotlight the grand opening of Ripley’s Mirror Maze and the return of the new and improved Red Trains, now refreshed with an updated experience and all-new storytelling.

One of the day’s most unique highlights will be a live art demonstration from Sunscribes, who will complete the final John Hancock on a massive 4-by-5-foot Declaration of Independence using the power of the sun.

EVENT SCHEDULE

3:00 PM — Event begins
4:00 PM — Emcee welcome and weird history kickoff
4:15 PM — Sunscribes live art demonstration begins
5:00 PM — Family contests, audience trivia, and giveaways
5:30 PM — Featured set from Captain & Maybelle
6:30 PM — Final music and patriotic crowd moment

Select free Red Train rides will also be available during times to be announced.

🗝️Fort Mose — Fort Mose Historic State Park is the site of the first legally sanctioned free African settlement in what is now the United States. In 1738, the Spanish governor of Florida chartered the settlement of Gracia Real de Santa Teresa de Mose, or Fort Mose for short, as a settlement for those fleeing slavery from the English colonies in the Carolinas.

🗝️ACCORD Civil Rights Museum — Documents the local civil rights movement, focusing on the 1960s struggle for equality, and is housed in the former dental office of Dr. Robert B. Hayling, a key local leader. It features artifacts from when Martin Luther King, Jr. visited, the Monson Motor Lodge sign and Cora Tyson’s bible. It serves as the starting point for the ACCORD Freedom Trail, a self-guided tour of historic sites.

Enjoy a guided tour of the historic Hotel Alcazar. Completed in 1888, the Hotel Alcazar was commissioned by Standard Oil executive Henry Flagler. Flagler helped shape St. Augustine into a winter retreat for America’s elite, building magnificent hotels that provided visitors with modern comforts and extravagant leisure. To attract its wealthy Gilded Age clientele, the Alcazar featured an alluring combination of exotic architecture, modern amenities, sports and entertainment facilities, and fine cuisine.

✨ $35 per person | $15 Lightner Museum Members

Lightner Museum admission is included with the purchase of a tour ticket. Tours last approximately 45-60 minutes, and are led by trained tour guides. Pre-registration is required, and tours are limited to 10 guests. This tour is not recommended for guests under the age of 14.
