We are less than one week away from our Labor Day Weekend Plein Air Paint Out👩‍🎨

📆 On September 4 & 5, the St. Augustine Art Association and the St. Johns Cultural Council are hosting a two-day Plein Air Event! Registration to paint is FREE! Capture the final days of Summer in St. Augustine by joining us for a weekend filled with creativity, community, and inspiration✨

🎟️Registration is FREE of cost. Artists are required to sign up and all surfaces must be stamped before painting.

🖼️The work completed during this event is eligible for the Plein Air Paint Out Exhibit at the St. Johns County Rotunda Gallery November 19, 2026 – February 8, 2027

Call for Artists🎨! Our Fall Members Show will be featured for the month of September🎉

This bi-annual exhibit of STAAA members features a variety of works by emerging, seasoned and professional artists.✨

👩‍🎨Each active STAAA member may submit ONE (1) original 2D or 3D works in any medium or style.
🖼️2D works may be no larger than 48 inches wide by 48 inches high, including the frame.
🏺3D works may be no larger than 36 in x 24 in x 24 in to fit on a pedestal; 60in high x 36in x 36in for free-standing 3D art.
🔨2D works must be ready to hang with secure wire on back.

Join us on Saturday, September 26 from 9am - 4pm for a watercolor workshop at the St. Augustine Art Association. Open to artists of all skill levels, this class will include demonstrations and guided instruction. Students will learn techniques for depth and methods for washes, resulting in a realistic, natural painting.🖼️

This August we are showcasing our Annual Honors Exhibition, including work from artists who have received awards from STAAA in the past three years!🖼️ Creating work gives artists the freedom to experiment mediums and find new ways to express themselves artistically. This show gives artists the chance to highlight their strengths and showcase work that is true to their style. This exhibit features many different Photographers each displaying their own perspective. Explore the beauty of watercolor landscapes in this single-day workshop with local watercolor artist LuAnn Dunkinson!✨

Through demonstrations and guided instruction, students will learn essential watercolor techniques for creating luminous skies, natural depth, and realistic flora and fauna. LuAnn will cover a variety of wash methods and compositional strategies that help bring landscapes to life while keeping paintings fresh, balanced, and expressive.

*This workshop is open to artists of all skill levels.
