Cirque des Morts '26

It's that time again as we start planning our next show for October. This year’s theme for Cirque des Morts will be “Femme Fatales.” We want a show filled with dangerous and deadly women, whether they are historical figures, real life personalities, fictional characters, or even concepts of your own creation. They can be well known, lesser known, or entirely imagined ideas, let your creativity run wild! It is the kick off the spooky season, so the deadlier the better!

Important Dates
Show Dates: October 2nd and 3rd
-Dress Rehearsal: Saturday, September 26th, one week prior to the show

If you wish to perform in this show, you must be a current student of Ancient City Aerial Arts and submit your act proposal by June 30th. Please provide the following details in your submission:
- Type of act (solo, duet, trio, or group)
- Song
- Apparatus or apparatuses
- Potential costuming
- As many details as possible about your concept

Acts will be selected and approved during the first week of July.

We are also accepting submissions for Sideshow Acts to be performed during rigging changes between the main acts. These will be short 2-minute, non-aerial performances, and both current students and non-students are welcome to apply. For Sideshow submissions, please stay within the theme of the show and provide as much detail as possible regarding your act and concept.

It’s been a few months of building this vision, but we’re excited to announce Contemporary Lyra with to the studio! Sign up is now available at ancientcityaerialarts.com

Dim lights, dreamy music, your favorite metal apparatus, mindful and explorative somatic movement… Does this sound enticing? This new class will mix the concepts of contemporary dance, somatic movement and aerial hoop to provide a safe, playful space to interrupt  the seriousness of aerial training for a Monday night treat to the jumbled mind! Expect a fun warm up, creativity drills & games, somatic exercises, prop-playing, and monthly rotating, versatile choreography. Our goals are to find unique shapes, master flow state, express ourselves to stimulating music, harbor individual experiences, and connect to the beating heart of your practice - passion! 

Leave your inhibitions at the door and come spend an hour with me every Monday, 7:30 on being your most whimsical self. 

Classes start May 25th. This is not ultra-beginner friendly! You must be comfortable with inverts, standing on the bottom bar, able to comfortably hang out in a supported/faux single knee hang, and dead arm hang for at least 30 seconds!
