Sound up! …. There is just something satisfying about tearing paper.

Here is a collagraph print I made today. Still have a ways to go learning this technique, but this a lot of fun.

Using my Ritualis press () for the last layer on the reduction linocut print. I use this press a lot for small details in reduction prints. In this case I used it for the green eyes in the first layer and the black in the final layer. Much less chance of slips or paper damage than another pass through the etching press.

Experiments… this is a collagraph with chine-collé. The cranes are the collagraph, printed from a plate made with mat board, sandpaper, adhesive vinyl, and torn textured paper. The background shape is a piece of torn Awagami washi pressed between the paper and the ink. I am happy with the composition, but the overall piece still needs some work. I may need to rebuild the plate with a different material for the neck/body of the cranes. And I want there to be more color contrast between the neck of the crane and background paper.
