First Friday Author Pop-Up at Art Box Gallery!

Join us this First Friday, June 5th from 5–9 PM as we welcome local author Lisa J. Haase to Art Box Gallery for a special pop-up featuring her book, Rise and Shine St. Augustine! A Souvenir Book for All Ages.

Lisa calls St. Augustine home, and through this charming book, she invites readers of all ages to experience the beauty, spirit, and wonder of our beloved seaside city. With whimsical illustrations by Sarina Young and the delightful presence of Spoonie on every page, this book is filled with warmth, adventure, and local love.

First Friday Featured Artist: Chike Onuorah
Featuring Pot of Life
Presented with Ovico Gallery at Art Box Gallery

Join us this First Friday as Art Box Gallery welcomes Ovico Gallery for a special showcase featuring the extraordinary work of artist Chike Onuorah.

In his piece Pot of Life, Chike invites us to look beyond the surface. At first glance, the painting appears to be a vessel. Look again, and the form of a woman begins to emerge. Look deeper still, and the shape of a guitar begins to reveal itself.

Through these three interconnected symbols, Chike explores life, creativity, expression, and the stories that shape us. Created in his Plastallino style, this work continues to reveal more the longer you engage with it.

This showcase also marks a beautiful new chapter for Ovico Gallery — the same extraordinary collection, continuing to travel, connect, and find new homes.

Original works and limited-edition giclées are available for acquisition, and each painting is accompanied by a poem authored by the artist.

So proud of artist Larry Spear. He is such a skilled artist and has worked on his perfecting his craft for over 50 years. He has inspired me and many other artists to use color and composition. This black and white show is another testament to his art. Make sure to see it while you can. Other works by Larry are located in Art Box Gallery on 137 King Street.

Making art for more than 50 years, Larry Spear of Pomona Park finds limiting his palette to black, grays and white a challenge. The 74-year-old painter will have two pieces on display in the Gathering Artists of Putnam’s “Black & White” exhibit, which opens Saturday in Palatka.
