We have a Frame Shoppe mystery on our hands and we are looking to get help from the public! Don’t worry, though, this isn’t a tale of hardship or tragedy. We are hoping to have some fun with this.

A few weeks ago we received a painting and frame, left outside our door a little before opening. Although there are glimpses of a person on the security camera, we could not identify who left the items behind. We have heard nothing back since the items were left. No one has claimed them, no one has called or ordered any work be done with them. No note was left.

So, we are turning to the public. Does anyone know who the owner is or who dropped it off? Are they the same person? What is the story behind the artist? Is this an heirloom?

We are still a bit puzzled about this. We have certain details about the drop off that will help us confirm who the mystery person is. Is it you? Is it someone you know? Please respond below or come by the Shoppe so we can solve the mystery!

This week we feature the work of Eric Tobin. This is a curated gallery of some of the work that Eric has at the Frame Shoppe right now!

Eric Tobin is a seventh-generation Vermonter and has been interested in painting and drawing since childhood. He was influenced and taught by some very well-respected artists from a previous generation, such as Thomas Curtin, Rhett Sturman, Charles Movalli, and Fred Hines. His plein-air paintings capture the beauty, light, and moments of the New England landscape with his impressionist style with a special love for his native Vermont, and it can be seen in each of his works.

"I strive to paint the feeling of a place and particularly like painting in the winter, spring, and fall," he says.

Eric's career as an award-winning, highly-regarded, and heavily-collected landscape painter makes him a Vermont treasure.

Come into the Village Frame Shoppe & Gallery and see Eric's original paintings in person. These photos do not capture the intricate color and brushwork.
