CARIBBEAN AMERICAN REPERTORY THEATRE (CART) presents high-quality Caribbean, African and African-American Theatre to communities in New York City.

Founded in 1975 by a core of Caribbean actors, the Mission of CART is to create a cultural, artistic arena for theatre artists to display their talents and creative diversity. The company has presented staged-readings of new plays through collaborations with WWRL-FM, Community United Methodist Church of Harlem, Woodie King Jr.’s New Federal Theatre, Theatre of the Living Word, and Metropolitan Col

lege of Manhattan. CART is also actively involved in establishing a Drama & Technical Theatre Training Program, under the auspices of the Saint Albans MultiPurpose Community Center.
