A change of plans for the remainder of our season! Out of an abundance of caution for the forecasted weather this afternoon, we have decided to cancel and reschedule our performance of Frevo. The concert will now be taking place on December 14th. Please join us then for an eclectic program of music including some seasonal tunes. This will take the place of our performance of the Citizens Concert Band on December 7th, which has unfortunately been cancelled. We hope to host them again in the future!

More from Sunday’s artist, David Feurzeig, about the musical program:

I’ll be joined by clarinetist Elisabeth LeBlanc for Paquito D’Rivera’s “Vals Venozolano” and “Small Changes” by Vermont composer Don Jamison. Debussy’s 1894 Sarabande marks the year the present Congregational Church was built, while Joplin’s 1902 “Elite Syncopations” marks the year of the city’s incorporation.

I’ll also be playing music by acclaimed composer David Rakowski, a St. Alban’s native and two-time Pulitzer finalist who came up playing trombone in the town band; I’m working up “Quietude”, his Piano Etude no. 97—he wrote 100! Scarlatti as usual, Ives’ “Alcotts”, and other solo pieces will complete out the program.

Everyone’s getting ready for some great music on Sunday — make sure you’re there, too!
