I am finally in the process of sewing together the two halves of my La Passacaglia quilt!! (The full photo is an older one, but it gives the idea of the whole design so far.) I started this quilt in February 2017.

I have been working on my La Passacaglia at the Green Valley Quilter’s Guild sewing days with the Slow Stitcher’s Bee the last few months.

That’s the good news. The bad news is that I made my right thumb really mad and today it hurts a lot. 🤬 hopefully this is only a today pain. 🤞

🌵“Saguaro Sunset” 🌵is on the wall of my home studio! This space has been empty since we moved in, so it’s great to finally get a quilt hung there. Check out my previous posts for detail images.

While I’m disappointed that this piece was not selected for QuiltCon 2024 ( ), I’m super happy with it hanging in my space, and now I don’t need to worry about it being lost in the mail. ☺️🌵

My 2024 Windham fabric challenge submission for Quiltcon - Saguaro Sunset. 47” x 50”.🌵 Using only 6 pre-determined fabrics, I created an original design inspired by the fantastic desert landscape and the retaining wall art found along I-19 south of Tucson, Arizona. I used the foundation paper-piecing technique to construct the cacti. If you look closely, you will find a few outlines of more cacti in the quilted sun circle. I can’t wait to get it hung on the wall above my sewing machine!
