Day 2 of SHAMc’s Wild Makers Camp was all about printmaking!

Campers started small, carving practice designs into erasers, before leveling up to large-scale linocuts. They explored different techniques, got hands-on with every step of the printmaking process, and created designs that will soon come to life on both paper and their tie-dye projects!

SHAMc is looking for old bowling balls to help with our ongoing maintenance and landscaping needs. Got one rolling around in your garage, closet, or trunk? We’ll gladly take it off your hands!

Drop off your old bowling balls at SHAMc any time. We prefer that you leave them in or near the pink donation bin outside of the studio!

We have a bunch of Wild Makers at camp this week! These kiddos are using nature to explore art… Led by Teaching Artist Echo Sheppard, they did botanical hammer prints, tie-dyed, and worked on linocuts. What a wild start!

The ARTery Boutique has unique, handmade, artsy, funny, beautiful, and wonderfully unexpected gifts for dads, granddads, bonus dads, dog dads, father figures, and favorite people of all kinds. Come shop local at SHAMc and find something hand-made with personality… and support local artists in the process!

We’re feeling a little strung out today, in the best way possible! After diving into the world of string instruments, our young creators got hands-on by designing their very own cigar box string instruments. Using string, rubber bands, wire, and lots of imagination, they transformed everyday materials into something truly musical.

The creativity didn’t stop there, songs are being written, laughter is echoing, and teamwork is bringing everything together. Piece by piece, we’re building toward a grand performance made entirely from recycled materials.

It’s amazing what can happen when creativity, kids and junk collide! Mark your calendars for the performance at SHAMc this Friday, June 19- doors at 2:45, performance at 3 pm. See you there!

The campers are making their own instruments, so of course we had to try turning their sounds into a music loop.

Was it as successful as we imagined? Maybe not.
Is it weirdly charming anyway? Definitely.
