Again, thank you for everyone who's already purchased tickets especially with all the other s**t going on. As you can tell by the lineup we pushed the budget a lot farther this year not expecting to have so many things pop up around the same time and all the on sale s**t for other s**t next year going on at the same time. Oh well it is what it is! We're roughly 35 percent sold at this point which is cool, and definitely ahead of the pace of last year. In all reality we're gonna need to come pretty close to a sellout for Wretched Rites to continue next year. P**s Baptism have become one of those bands people in Sacramento will show up for every single time. Doesn’t matter if it’s a warehouse, skate shop, or a real venue. The room fills up anyway.

Their mix of black metal and grindcore has made them one of the most in demand underground bands in the area over the last few years, even while dialing the live shows back a bit this year.

The 2024 split on Transylvanian Recordings doesn’t feel like a peak. It feels like the start of something much bigger. 

Last year they played the prefest.

Now they become one of two bands to make the jump from the Wretched Rites prefest to the main fest itself, opening day two on the main stage at Harlow’s.

Sacramento made this happen.

INSANITY - SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA

Formed in 1985, Insanity have reformed and disbanded a handful of times over the years, with the most recent return happening in 2018. Since then, the band has come back swinging harder than ever.

Insanity are still overlooked by a lot of people as true pioneers of the death/thrash sound. Go back to the 1985 demo and try finding many bands from that era with vocals this harsh and music this intense. While most bands were still stuck in straightforward thrash, Insanity already sounded completely......INSANE

Everything finally got the proper full length treatment with Death After Death in 1993, now considered an essential record by anyone deep into underground extreme metal.

And they still haven’t stopped. Visions of Apocalypse in 2010 proved the band still had it, while last year’s Rotted Soul EP showed there’s still plenty left in the tank.

Live performances from Insanity are few and far between, which makes this one feel even more special.

Do not miss the chance to see them melt faces in Sacramento.

IRON FIRMAMENT - SEATTLE, WASHINGTON

Iron Firmament are part of a very small group of newer USBM bands actually getting this style right. Raw black metal with real atmosphere behind it. Cold synths, massive presence, and songwriting that feels bigger than the usual cave rehearsal worship most bands never escape from.

You honestly do not hear this kind of black metal coming out of the United States very often, which explains why the band’s popularity has exploded this quickly while still being such a young band.

Their first release Keepeater dropped in 2023 and immediately put people onto what they were doing.
Now In the Land of Pre-Human Kings is already sitting near the top of a lot of early 2026 album of the year conversations.

If you haven’t heard it yet, go spend time with it on Bandcamp immediately, because you are definitely not finding the vinyl anywhere. It sold out almost instantly and copies are already getting ridiculous on Discogs.

Some bands arrive and immediately feel important. Iron Firmament is one of them.

PERDITION TEMPLE - TAMPA, FLORIDA

Formed in 2009, Perdition Temple carry the same spirit and lineage that runs through Angelcorpse, with ties to Ares Kingdom through bassist Alex Blume, into something even darker over the years. The members are involved in countless other noteworthy bands at this point, honestly too many to even list properly.

West Coast appearances from Perdition Temple are few and far between, which makes this one feel even more significant.

The Tempter’s Victorious and Edict of the Antichrist Elect already cemented the band years ago, and Malign Apotheosis on Hell’s Headbangers ended up on a massive amount of year end lists in 2025.

There’s a reason this band has become so important to people deep into underground death metal. The riffs feel genuinely cursed. The atmosphere feels genuinely hostile.
Some bands fit the bill immediately. Perdition Temple is one of them.
