Murasaki Kiyohime dwarf Japanese Maple 6 gallon container I bare rooted and had to cut back to hardwood in order to fit in future bonsai pots. I pruned branches last year so that the stress of this years root work would be focused on root work healing only. I worked on Nebari improvements and potted using Boons mix which is equal parts Akadama, Pumice and lava. I used a large size Pumice layer for drainage. These have extremely vigorous root systems and all wounds including branches removed are quick to heal up. Wonderful spring colors and tiny leaves. Spectacular cultivar!

Kashima Dwarf Japanese Maple. This was a 6 gallon nursery grown tree 2 years ago. Very hardy in zone 9b. I have really enjoyed working on it.
