Viewpoint is Northern California's only nonprofit photographic art center offering an over 20 exhibits a year as well as workshops, lectures, field trips and more. Viewpoint Photographic Art Center, a nonprofit organization, is in the heart of a thriving, energetic and supportive photographic community. Viewpoint’s role is to promote the art of photography through:

graphy by contemporary and historic photographers.
- Lectures, discussion, workshops, field trips and educational programs.

Have a photography project ready to share with the world? 📸

Viewpoint is now accepting exhibition proposals for our 2027 season. We’re looking for compelling photographic work from emerging and established artists alike.

If you’ve been thinking about exhibiting your work, now is the time to apply.

Know a photographer whose work deserves to be seen? Tag them below or share this post to help us spread the word.

Applications are now open. Proposals for solo or group exhibits must be submitted online by midnight on June 30, 2026.

What’s the photograph you’ve been excited to share lately?

The Viewpoint Members’ Exhibit is a chance to see your work on the gallery walls alongside a creative community of photographers exploring all kinds of subjects, styles, and ideas.

Every year, this exhibit transforms the gallery into a dynamic collection of perspectives, experiments, stories, and moments captured through photography — and we’d love for you to be part of it.

✨ Members may submit one photograph
✨ Open to all photographic styles
✨ The first 100 entries will be accepted

This is your invitation to share bold ideas, compelling stories, and inventive approaches to the photographic arts in one of Sacramento’s leading spaces dedicated entirely to photography.

We’re currently accepting proposals for:
