Although protests in Sac have been peaceful (at least on the side of protestors) the police and anti protestors are not the only threat. BE AWARE OF WHITE SUPREMACIST TERRORISTS. This has reached almost 8,000 views on twitter, so I figured I’d spread it around as much as possible. Yesterday my friend and I witnessed this man driving around the capital in this truck that with signs that said “f**k antifa.” The national guard pulled him over and had the police search his vehicle. We got this footage from across the street from the capital on our way to Caesar Chavez Plaza in Sac. Luckily, no protestors had gathered in this area yet. We watched the officers pull multiple guns, including assault rifles, amo, and an axe out of his truck. This was 2 hours before the protestors reached the capital building. Although it happened yesterday, there are still people who are protesting and I urge everyone to be aware, and to stay safe. There are medics and emt at protest sites on hand in case of emergency. Make sure to write your emergency contacts on yourself in permanent marker.

I was going to stay off social media. As much pain as I’ve been feeling, as confused as I’ve been, it’s so nice to see global solidarity. Pleas for justice from protests all around the world. I cried before I even opened the article and continued to bawl my eyes out at seeing everyone stand together. My heart was full while reading this. And I realized that this is much bigger than any of us. That as upset as I was yesterday about my friend’s business being looted, I couldn’t let that derail my focus from what’s going on. I had to keep in mind that the people who did that took advantage of the chaos of protestors who are putting their lives on the line. I had to separate it, and it was hard. I’m still upset and confused. And then I think about what real pain and confusion is, what real hardship is. Real hardship is fearing for your life when you see a police officer because of the color of your skin. Real worry is wondering if today’s the day you’re going to die when you step out of your house. Real pain is losing a loved one because they simply exist. And real outrage is outrage towards systematic oppression and the lingering racism from a country that enslaved the same group that they are still oppressing to this day. I dig deep every day and try to uproot the implicit biases society ingrained in me during my childhood until there are none left. I want to tear down any ignorance and miseducation that I have from growing up in a conservative town around racist people. I open my ears, my mind, and my heart to learn what the black community actually experiences. And I implore you to also do so if you have not. We cannot blame the oppressed. We must stand together. I am so proud of my boyfriend’s hard work (.todorvitch). I’m so happy to see the growth that he deserves. He went from screen printing his own tees to being in the same warehouse as SANTA CRUZ SKATEBOARDING company.
