. ’s health Pic is a throw back to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where I performed 26 shows in 28 days. I survived cancer & created an Award Winning International Touring Solo Show, CHEMO BARBIE, about my breast cancer journey from diagnosis to life beyond.

Had the honor of heading to Sacramento for the 3rd annual CA Arts & Culture Summit hosted by — a gathering grounded in a theme that’s incredibly close to my heart and mission: the vital role of arts and culture in promoting health, healing, and hope in our communities.

For the past 7 years, I’ve been advocating through my show — which has taken me into some unexpected spaces, including oncology conferences where nurses earn continuing ed credits and doctors sharpen their bedside manner.

This summit brought together artists, cultural workers, advocates, and policymakers in a powerful confluence — all dedicated to deepening belonging and wellness in our shared spaces. As you’ll see in the photos, we explored innovative policies and community programs that position artists as second responders — essential to our collective healing and recovery.

Deep gratitude for this experience and for the growing recognition of how transformative the arts can be. ❤️‍🩹

9 years ago I was jumping off a Radnet table in shock that I would need a biopsy. I was terrified and the woman who did the imaging of the lump I’d discovered through self exam said, “ I have been doing this for ten years. I do think it’s cancer. You need a biopsy and I wouldn’t want that in me.” After that awful experience I ran with my images to . December 18th was the day that changed the trajectory of my life forever. City of Hope gave me my new normal, my new life. On December 24th I was at City of Hope having those biopsies that would show the type of breast cancer I had and the treatments I’d need. I celebrate because 9 years later, I am alive, cancer free, and able to enjoy my daughter’s concert tonight and some much deserved pancakes at a favorite breakfast place. Here is to being in the moment of now and living. 🎉

Rehearsal in the woods. I have been updating “Chemo Barbie.” The stage in the woods with an audience of peacocks is the calmest setting for a rehearsal. This show is an ever changing piece of art. The latest updates include using two of the three embryos. So, this wooded enclave is conducive to these delicate topics, that of course I always infuse with humor. I have some upcoming performances so stay tuned. ❤️🦚
