Spring has sprung and it’s time to return to our techno roots.

Kicking off year 3 we are bringing back live modular synthesis producer and dear friend David Castellani.

Head of the Noetic label with 13 releases and appearances by Truncate, Etapp Kyle, Matrixxman & Voiski. Born in Italy and now based in Portugal by way of LA he will be paying us a visit after the legendary Movement Festival in Detroit.

Castellani has carved a lane in the techno world with all of his shows being performed on his custom built Eurorack. If you were with us in 2023 with his 360 degree show and 4 point sound you know this is not one to be missed!

On support we have local Not Safe For Wax label boss & Flowstate resident Miagma. A well seasoned selector at this point, Miagma has been blessing the West Coast through his multiple releases and dj sets spanning the likes of techno, dub, west coast house & more. We’re very excited to give him an extended opening set to stretch his legs and warm us up proper!

Rounding things out will be one of our own C&R residents.

Also returning to Sacramento we welcome back San Francisco based visual artist Loaf Baker! Loaf has made appearances at Canyon Vibration (OR), Osmosis Festival (OR), Mutek Festival (SF) and Sunset Campout (CA).

Bringing the sound we have a fully custom system designed and deployed by Fathom Sound.

This one will be a family affair celebrating year 3! The bpm’s will be up, this one’s for the techno heads.

Easin’ back into the swing of things with dear pal and Tide Swing co-conspirator next Wednesday February 4th.

Our 3rd year in a row kicking the C&R season off with our bud has become something of a tradition now and we wouldn’t want to start the year anyway else.

Expect some nice cuts of dub, house, electro and more at one of Sacramentos hidden gems, Legend Has It Hi-Fi Bar.

2025 saw less output from us here at Call & Response as a collective, but the crew behind the scenes were hard at work all on their own personal growth journeys.

And what we lacked in quantity we tried our best to make up for in quality.

While this was not foreseen going into the year, we heeded the call to do what was necessary for ourselves and each other. In doing so it solidified our bond as a group and fortified our resolve of what we want here in Sacramento. A community of conscientious individuals centered around music and dance.

For all those who supported us we continue to thank you.

In the coming year we plan to push forward with our mission.

Thanks for rocking with us, see ya in 2026.

We enjoyed last year’s pre thanksgiving bash so much we decided to run it back again but this year with Sunset Sound Systems Solar.

The man behind Squirrels On Film and some of the most tripped out sets we’ve been fortunate enough to witness, we couldn’t be more excited to welcome Solar to the party.

d&b audiotechnik stacks will be on hand to deliver the goods alongside some of the most eclectic tunes you’ll hear on the West Coast.
