Calidanza Dance Company’s mission is to provide a comprehensive experience that promotes artistic excellence in Mexican folk and contemporary dance in a manner that embraces a passion for the art form. Calidanza believes in making dance accessible to everyone and strives to inform and educate our audience through quality productions, innovative choreographies and engaging progr

ams. Vision Statement:
Calidanza Dance Company seeks to become Sacramento’s first professional Mexican folk dance company presenting annual programs in our region as well as touring nationally/internationally. It is our goal to create a vibrant cultural art center in Sacramento that promotes Latino dance and other art forms. Calidanza will partner with other cultural arts organizations to create a vibrant arts community in Sacramento and beyond. We currently offer classes in Ballet folklorico fused with contemporary dance. Our organization welcomes all members regardless of dance level.

Just minutes before taking the stage, CaliDanza Assistant Company Director Megan Benitez shared a heartfelt reminder with our dancers about why we do what we do. ❤️

The magic of every show doesn’t just happen on stage… it starts long before the curtain rises. ✨

To be honest with you all, so much of what makes ¡Festejos! special happens behind the scenes — the laughter, the nerves, the last-minute touches, the teamwork, the tradition, and the excitement as our dancers prepare to bring these stories to life.
