We lost a great Sacramentan last week. Burnett Miller was a true lover of the arts and supporter of our community. We encourage you to visit the park named after him at McKinley Village.

Former Sacramento Mayor Burnett Miller, 95, died late Sunday, his family said Monday. Miller was considered a Sacramento icon, earned a Purple Heart in World War II and starred in the Ken Burns PBS documentary “The War.”

Such a great day yesterday celebrating Michael Himovitz, gallery owner and activist by naming one of our parks for him. We also celebrated the completion of Jim Piskoti's "Wildlife on a Ferris Wheel" in Michael Himovitz Park and Jeff Myers "Tractor Levitation". And ended the day with an awesome light show at the Underpass by Michael Sestak. More to come with the celebration of our Art Walk at noon today. Come and enjoy, food, drinks, music, kids activities and an art tour with our local artists.
