Dear Red Bucket Supporters,
We would like to first thank you all for your generous support through our two-year run as a contemporary dance theatre company in the Sacramento region. Through our two seasons, we premiered two full-evening pieces along with works from numerous choreographers from the local community. In our first season, we came into the scene with a bang with our highly emotive piece, directed by artistic directors Lisa Ross and Nolan T’Sani, "TranscenDance." Our following season, we opened with a multi-choreographer show, "The Collection," including the talented choreographers of Bayne Dance Projects' Lorelei Bayne, Sacramento Ballet’s Stefan Calka, CSUS graduates Melisa Cervantes and Lean Damasco, Jr., and Mill’s College MFA graduate Katie Rogers. The sold out show would be followed by our last act "All Summer In A Day," a full length piece, featuring a blend of technology, dance, singing, and acting created by our very own Lisa Ross. This is why, with heavy heart, we are announcing that Red Bucket Dance Theatre will be going on a hiatus, indefinitely.
This decision did not come lightly, as we felt the momentum of the company in the community was growing, but due to financial hardships, we are no longer able to create the innovative works as we are known. Hopefully, in the future, we will be able to return right where we left off.
Again, thank you all for your support. This ride has been a wonderful one with great joy through the years. There have been numerous accomplishments that cannot be measured by money. We leave with happy hearts, ready for the next adventure in our artistic careers. Someday, it may lead us back to Red Bucket Dance Theatre.
Warmly,
Red Bucket Dance Theatre
