G20 2025 Film 3/5 ⭐️

G20 stars Viola Davis as the President of the United States, an Army combat veteran who is balancing family life while pushing a major global initiative. She and her family travel to an overseas G20 summit hoping to secure support from world leaders.

Things take a dangerous turn when a mercenary, played by Antony Starr, launches an attack on the summit. His team eliminates the security details protecting the world's leaders and takes them hostage as part of a plan to manipulate the stock market and make billions betting against it. However, the U.S. President, her Head of Security, and a handful of other leaders manage to escape, forcing them into a fight for survival while mercenaries hunt them and her family throughout the complex.

The film co-stars Anthony Anderson, Marsai Martin, and Ramón Rodríguez.

Currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video, G20 has been gaining attention following Antony Starr's final run as Homelander in the TV series The Boys.

While the film is far from perfect, I still found some things to enjoy. Viola Davis and her Head of Security were easily the highlights of the movie, and there are several entertaining action sequences throughout. Unfortunately, whenever the action slows down, the film tends to lose momentum and stalls. In the end, it's not a bad movie, but it's also not particularly memorable.

She loves finding new ways to explore how it feels to be human and connected to the world and each other. She likes exposing things that feel a little uncomfortable and finding intimacy in storytelling with her audience. She enjoys many genres as an audience member and creator and dreams of dark comedies and sarcasm that makes you laugh out loud but is slowly coming to terms with the fact that most of her films come out melancholic.

On a personal note: Sydney is also an Award-Winning Director at SacTown Film Festival and tells real stories, that are relatable, and engaging. Definitely will be a sought out Director for those interesting in participating in the 30-Day Film Challenge!

They will be Directing together and I personally watched one of short films a few weeks ago at and they are phenomenal! These young Directors are ones that everyone should be keeping any eye on!

Jacob Morales: Jacob Morales is a writer-director born and raised in Sacramento, California. Jacob's style consists of a range of romance, surrealism, drama and comedy. Due to influence from writer-director’s such Kaufman, Wong Kar Wai, and Paul Thomas Anderson, Jacob aims to explore the introspective emotionality of the human experience with hints of comedic relief.

Adam Haupt-Vidales: Adam Haupt-vidales is a writer-director based out of Sacramento, California, whose work can be characterized by a strong connection to surrealism and psychological drama. His influences stretch from authors like Ling Ma and Franz Kafka to writer-directors like Pedro Almodovar, Guillermo del Toro, and Jean-Pierre Jeunet.
