Monday night. Musicians welcome. 💜💜💜

Coming up next @ SPC

Monday, May 20, 7:30 p.m.:
NEW EVENT: PB&J Night!

PB&J: Poetry, Books & Jam is what host Diamond Key is calling this addition to regular programming at SPC. It will be a night of poetry and music in which poets and musicians are encouraged to interact in a multi-disciplinary jam session. Poets can read with the musicians, musicians can jam with each other, and all can enjoy the collaboration.

Musicians should plan on showing up no later than 7 (maybe earlier, especially this first time) to position themselves and their gear before the start time of 7:30 p.m. Musicians should expect to be mostly unplugged except for, of course, instruments that require plugging! Bring your own amps if you need them. A mic and PA will be provided for speakers only.

Poets should consider what poems of theirs might work best with musical accompaniment and bring those.

This first foray will help to clarify how this will work, so it will be a bit of a dry run after which we will work out any bugs for future events such as space concerns, how many instruments we can hold, etc. (There will not be one in June because of a previous scheduling commitment, but will resume in July and continue from there.)

There is talk that a PB&J sandwich-off might be on the table at some point! Who’s got the best one?

Poets & musician open mic sign ups: 7-7:30 p.m.

Free!
