The original cover is by Paul Rader (published 1973). You don’t start seeing good quality depictions of non-white women in major pulp novels until the late 60’s.

I’ve been wanting to feature diabetes monitors in a piece for a while, and the person on the left had the perfect body position.

On their stomach is a Omnipod insulin pump. The round piece on the back of their arm is a CGM (continuous glucose monitor).
