Regarding the show at The Starlet Room next month, we've made the decision to turn this event into a benefit. All proceeds from this year's show will be donated to Fund Texas Choice, a non-profit that pays for travel and lodging expenses for women who are forced to travel out of state to reach viable and safe abortion care providers.
We believe that it is the right of every person to have autonomy over their own bodies, particularly when it comes time for family planning. Due to recent judicial and legislative actions, women in Texas and around the country are no longer allowed to have agency over their own reproductive healthcare decisions and we would like for our creative efforts with this show to go towards putting a tiny little dent in that little bit of bu****it.
Every dime that goes to the bands from this year's show will go directly to Fund Texas Choice, a member of the National Network of Abortion Funds. Opportunities will be provided at the venue for further cash donations if you would like to add to that number, or you can provide support to them directly by way of a tax-deductible donation via their website.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support of this show over the years and look forward to another kickass '80s tribute on August 20 at the Starlet Room. This year we get to put our money where our mouths are and we look forward to your help as we do what we can to try and affect a small amount of change during this unsettling time.
