A medical breakthrough could change how wounded military dogs are treated.

A new medical breakthrough for America’s four-legged warfighters. 🇺🇸🐕‍🦺

The Defense Health Agency’s Canine Freeze-Dried Plasma team has earned a major program management award after helping secure the first FDA clearance for a canine freeze-dried plasma product.

Designed for difficult environments, the plasma can remain shelf-stable at room temperature for at least one year and be prepared for use within minutes.

For military working dogs facing life-threatening blood loss far from conventional medical facilities, that could mean faster access to critical care when every second matters.

They protect our soldiers. Now technology is helping protect them. 🇺🇸❤️🐾

A routine maintenance test flight ended in tragedy near Salado, Texas.

On August 12, a U.S. Army AH-64E Apache helicopter from Fort Hood experienced a mishap during a maintenance test flight, killing Chief Warrant Officer 2 Deontre T. Huey, 34, and Warrant Officer Seth L. Olmstead, 25.

The two pilots were assigned to Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division.

The crash also sparked a grass fire, while Army investigators began working to determine what caused the accident.
