Honoring Lesley Wittwer!
For long time, Les served our museum as a devoted board member/volunteer with grace, wisdom, and generosity. He gave freely of his time in making sure the grounds were mowed in a timely manner all during the summer seasons. Les has stepped down from the board but we hope to continue to see him visit us!
Your service and kindness will not be forgotten.

Excited to announce and welcome our new incoming board members and new officers!
Thank you for stepping up with your time, expertise, and passion to help shape the future of our museum. We are so grateful to have you and can’t wait to see all the good things we’ll do together.
Josh Meyer (pictured) and Ben Edelman (not pictured) were added on just recently to the board but are very familiar with the Albany Museum. Alan Meyer is our new President and has been a long time member of Albany's group. He filled the Treasurer's role prior to this position.
A warm welcome to each of you!

There’s a special kind of beauty in those who serve without fanfare — the board members and volunteers who pour themselves into a museum with patience, love, and quiet strength.
For years now, these wonderful “old souls” have been the backbone of everything we do. They’ve shared their time, their stories, their expertise, and their unwavering support. Through challenges and celebrations alike, they’ve shown up with grace and generosity that inspires everyone around them.
We honor you today and always. Here's just a few- Gale McDonald from Holton - engine doctor, David McCoy, Sabetha- our resident blacksmith, and Doyle Bechtelheimer, Sabetha - our general handyman, historian, tractor guy, and former pilot. Don Harvey, Bern stepped down from the board this past year but was our resident SawMill Expert!

Thank you for believing in our mission and for giving so freely of yourselves. The museum shines brighter because of you.

Every museum is carried forward by quiet heroes — the board members and volunteers who give their time, wisdom, and hearts so willingly.
Over the past few years, we’ve been blessed with a remarkable group of “old souls” — people whose steady dedication, deep care, and generous spirits have touched every corner of our museum. They’ve shown up in every season, offered their experience with kindness, and reminded us what true community looks like.
Today we pause to say thank you. Our past President : Alex Dawdy. He grew up being brought to Albany by his Grandfather. Your service has not gone unnoticed, and it will not be forgotten. We are deeply grateful!
