We are surely going to miss the concerts tonight and other Fridays in the off season! 🙂 I feel lost not going to the park tonight. However, we will definitely be back next year and we are trying to reschedule Justin Kennedy Band , who got rained out this year. If we are able to find a date that he is available that doesn't conflict with other events in the county, we will announce that here. Please stay tuned to our page and to the Morgan County Citizen for news on that and the possibility of any other concerts.

We rely solely on donations to pay all of the bands and all of our expenses. We budgeted for Justin's concert so we have no problem rescheduling that if he is available. However, we have been asked about additional concerts in the fall , and we get asked that question every year about this time. Any other concerts outside of the regularly scheduled concerts this season will require additional donations and will require a weekend where there are no other events and no football games. If you would like to become a sponsor for the next season or if you would like to make a donation to contribute to any additional concerts , please contact me at [email protected]. I'm always up for doing more concerts so long as they don't interfere with other events going on in the City and County, as long as the park is available and we can fund it.

When the late Ed Hogan, former co-owner of the Caboose, along with his wife Molly , asked me to take over the concert series, I gladly did so with his blessings and support. This was his baby. I always think of Ed in everything I do related to this series. We lost Mr. Ed this year, and I can still see him sitting by the gazebo in his Golf cart. As long as I'm physically able to do so and there is funding, we will continue in his honor. I love bringing the community together through music.

In the meantime , I wanted to thank every single person who attended the concerts, whether one or all, all of the incredible musicians who made this a season to remember, all of our sponsors, some of our contract employees who helped with social media, photography, etc., Jamie Hood for all of his help with running sound for several bands, graphic arts, and so much more. Each year our series gets better and better, and our crowds grow more and more. Thank you all!

Without our sponsors , we wouldn't be able to hire and pay the bands that were able to book, provide quality sound for some of our bigger bands, provide food, fans, etc. for the bands. We want to recognize all of them by name. We urge you to do business with them. If you find the need for their services, all of these businesses are run by good people who are local.

"'The band, Mofobia, will perform the final concert in this year's Rutledge, GA Summer Concert Series Friday, August 28, on the Gazebo stage. The classic soul and rock band is composed of many seasoned veterans, most of whom played the Chitlin Circuit back in the 60s,' according to Terry Reeves of Music Matters Entertainment . The Silver Strings Bluegrass Band will be performing Friday at the Rutledge, GA Summer Concert Series from 7-9 p.m. at the gazebo in City Park in downtown Rutledge. Thanks to the Morgan County Citizen for this nice article. There was a misprint in last week's papers, stating that last week was our last concert. The correction was immediately made on their website. We have three more concerts:

Join us this Friday for the return of Blue Velvet Atlanta , an all female blues rock, pop and rock band from Atlanta, at the Rutledge, GA Summer Concert Series . We received tremendous feedback last year, and we're so glad to have them back.
