Have you ever wanted to be part of a joust? ⚔️🐎

Debracey Productions is now accepting interns/working student applications for our 2026 season, and we’re looking for enthusiastic, hardworking people to join our team.

We welcome all experience levels, whether you’ve spent your life around horses or have never touched one. Our only requirements are that you are 18 or older, eager to learn, enthusiastic, team oriented, and coachable. If you bring a positive attitude and willingness to work, we will teach you everything else.

Debracey Productions is a traveling jousting and equestrian stunt performance troupe, with our home base located in Ruther Glen/Milford, Virginia. Our cast comes from across VA, MD, PA, DE, and even GA. We perform at events all over the country, from large shows like the Maryland Renaissance Festival to smaller renaissance faires and state fairs nationwide.
The more availability you have to travel, the better the fit.

Our internship and working student program is largely unpaid, but offers invaluable experience, especially for those interested in riding or performing. Interns receive hands-on exposure to horsemanship, grooming, tack handling, and barn care, and as they progress, they gain riding opportunities with our trained jousting horses.
For those who show dedication and growth, we offer the chance to learn mounted games, mounted stunt work, and eventually train toward learning to joust with guidance from our experienced team.

Every single member of our current troupe, including riders, squires, emcees, and knights, started as an intern. This is a place to build real skills, real confidence, and real performance experience in a supportive environment.

If you love horses, theater, adventure, or want to learn how to ride and joust, this program is an incredible entry point.
