The evening brought together great people to exchange ideas, strengthen partnerships, and continue building momentum for Arkansas tourism.

✨ Taking the Russellville story on the road!

This week, Christie and Megan joined Arkansas Hospitality Association CEO Alicia Payseno at the Community Development Institute (CDI Central) at the University of Central Arkansas to lead a session on the powerful connection between tourism and economic development.

From attracting visitors to creating thriving communities, tourism is about so much more than vacations—it's about supporting local businesses, creating jobs, and building places people want to visit, live, and invest in.

🎙️All Things Russellville with Mayor Fred Teague!

Ten years ago, before becoming Mayor of Russellville, Fred Teague made a decision that forever changed the way he viewed leadership. He spent 30 days experiencing homelessness to better understand the people served by a nonprofit he helped create, The Russ Bus , and to learn how to serve them more effectively.

On this episode of All Things Russellville, Megan and Christie sit down with Mayor Teague to look back on that experience, what he learned, and how it continues to shape the way he leads our city today. They also discuss his recent announcement that he is seeking another term as mayor.

It's an honest conversation about service, leadership, and building a better community for all citizens. You won't want to miss this one!

Megan & Christie headed downtown to check out the new art piece, recognize those who made it happen, and wrap up the All Things 250 celebration!

Christie shares how the vision for celebrating America's 250th anniversary became a reality, through the hard work of so many in our community collaborating with the Russellville Tourism and Visitor Center , Will Wetzel, and Charile Parker.

The JBT Marel team jumped on board and created this wonderful piece that will be displayed and used for celebrations for years to come. A special shoutout to Kirby Specialties Corporation for crafting the base—it truly took a community effort to bring this project to life! 👏

The 49th Annual Air Race Classic 2026 made a memorable stop in Russellville, Arkansas, with 48 aircraft’s arriving at the City of Russellville - Regional Airport - KRUE.

Our official airport mascot, Ella Mae, was on hand to welcome the pilots and crews, while Executive Director Christie Graham of the Russellville Tourism and Visitor Center greeted participants and celebrated this incredible aviation tradition.

We were honored to be a stop along this historic journey and showcase the hospitality of Russellville to aviators from across the country! ✈️❤️

Strong partnerships make strong communities. 🤝

Megan and Christie spent the day in Little Rock connecting with regional leaders and discussing the power of collaboration.

The day included a lunch meeting with Arkansas Hospitality Association CEO Alicia Peyseno, where conversations centered on regional partnerships and the role tourism plays as an economic development tool in Russellville and communities across Arkansas.

Earlier this year, the trio had the opportunity to lead a session at the 2026 Governor’s Conference, and they’ll continue sharing the message that tourism and economic development go hand in hand when they present at the 2026 Community Development Institute this fall.

We believe strong communities are built through strong relationships, and we’re grateful for partners across Arkansas who are working together to create places where people want to live, work, visit and invest.
