Ive been reading some of the comments and post bashing the original Moore family . lets stop
My Moore family is not related to the original Moore family .
Back in 2020 the Moore family approached me about running the rink or they was going to have to close the doors then. They did not want to see the rink close.
We took a risk during covid and agreed to purchase the business and to operate the rink . because we didnt want to see it close .
To this day neither Moore family wanted to see the rink close . but we both had no choice . they had no choice .did we have disagreements sure its business .
but at the end of the day on aug 21st 2025 both of our Moore familys agreed it was best to be sold to someone or group with resources that could save the structure .
I just wasnt expecting it be sold til after october when our lease purchase agreement was up or 1st of the yr so ya it was a surprise . .but im sure a non disclosure agreement had to be signed between the Moores and the buyers ……its business ……but we was going to have to leave and close anyways guys on our own also they did not just throw us out by any means. We talk many times leading up to this on how it could be saved ,what we could do . even after selling our other roller rink grand lake skate in st.marys ohio in feb 2024 we was still coming up short
this building is a very old wood domed building and needs MAJOR costly repairs that were in the range of $300k + to make it a safe skatable roller rink for the community these repairs needed done 25+ yrs ago this building by all rights should of been closed 25yrs ago not just recently ,however our pockets just wasnt deep enough even if we tried . over the last 2-3yrs of research and had estimates done .. it was just to much for either of us and with the property insurance and liability insurance was thru the roof .
It was not sold for greed it was sold to save the structure!!
i just hope the new buyers really consider keeping available for roller skating every now and then after they remodel ..il bring the skates !
