Next week, we’re opening the doors to Truvy’s Beauty Spot one more time — not just to revisit a movie we love, but to spend a little more time with Dolly.

Back to the big hair.

The hairspray.

The gossip.

The laughter.

The friendships.

And, of course, Truvy Jones. 💕

Dolly could walk into a scene, flash that smile, deliver one line, and somehow make the whole room feel warmer.

And Steel Magnolias gave us Dolly exactly the way so many of us loved her — funny, kind, quick-witted, unmistakably Southern and completely unforgettable.

Of course, Truvy’s Beauty Spot was never exactly a quiet place.

There’s Clairee.

There’s Ouiser, who has been “in a very bad mood for 40 years.”

There’s enough hairspray to create its own weather system.

And there are six women who will have you laughing until your stomach hurts…

right before this movie RIPS YOUR HEART OUT AND STOMPS ON IT. 😭

Because that’s Steel Magnolias.

It makes you laugh.

It makes you cry.

And somehow, it makes you laugh while you’re still crying.

But underneath all of it is something that feels especially meaningful right now — loving people fiercely while we have them, and carrying a little piece of them with us when they’re gone.

So next week, bring your mama.

Bring the person who can quote half the movie.

🎬 WE’RE GOING WAYYYYY BACK… TO STAND BY ME. 🚂

Back to 1959.

Back when summer vacation meant your parents had absolutely no idea where you were and apparently everyone was fine with that.

Four kids hear there’s a dead body outside town and instead of doing the normal thing—TELLING LITERALLY ONE ADULT—they grab some supplies and start walking down railroad tracks.

Because childhood in 1959 was apparently just survival mode with bicycles. 😂

Along the way we get:

🚂 A train encounter that makes every shortcut you’ve ever taken look responsible.
🐕 A junkyard dog whose reputation deserves its own horror movie.
🥧 A pie-eating contest that becomes a biological weapon.
🔥 Campfires, ci******es and stories because again… 1959.
😳 And four children making decisions that would cause a modern parent’s location-tracking app to burst into flames.

And somehow, underneath all of this absolute insanity, Stand By Me becomes one of the most beautiful movies ever made about friendship and growing up.

You’ll laugh.

You’ll get nostalgic.

You’ll question the adult supervision standards of an entire generation.

And then the ending will casually walk into the room and emotionally destroy you.

Because apparently we can’t just show an old movie.

WE HAVE TO GIVE EVERYONE A CHILDHOOD EXISTENTIAL CRISIS FOR $3.50. 💀😂🍿

WE’RE GOING WAAAAAY BACK… TO HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER’S STONE. ⚡🪄

Back to 2001.

Back before Horcruxes.

Back before everybody was traumatized.

Back when the biggest concern was getting sorted into the right house and WHY THIS CHILD’S FAMILY WAS MAKING HIM SLEEP UNDER THE STAIRS. 😭

Harry Potter is 11 years old.

His parents are gone.

His relatives hate him.

He lives in a cupboard.

And then a GIANT MAN BREAKS DOWN THE DOOR and announces:

SURPRISE. YOU’RE A WIZARD.

And Harry basically says:

Seems reasonable. Let’s go. 😂

Next thing you know, this kid is running directly into a brick wall at a train station because a stranger told him to.

🚩🚩🚩

Then he arrives at Hogwarts, an educational institution where:

🪜 The staircases refuse to stay put.

👻 Dead people live in the hallways.

🧌 A FULL-SIZED TROLL somehow gets inside.

🧹 Children are launched hundreds of feet into the air on wooden sticks.

🐍 The school keeps a THREE-HEADED MONSTER behind a door that can apparently be unlocked by an ELEVEN-YEAR-OLD.

🌲 Students receive detention by being SENT INTO A FOREST EVERYONE KNOWS IS FULL OF MONSTERS.

And the headmaster knows basically all of this is happening and is like:

“Anyway… ten points to Gryffindor.” 💀

HOGWARTS DOES NOT NEED ANOTHER DEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS TEACHER.

HOGWARTS NEEDS A SAFETY INSPECTOR.

But none of that mattered.

Because the first time we saw Hogwarts…

The first feast.

The first Quidditch match.

The first trip to Diagon Alley.

The first chocolate frog.

The first time that music started playing…

WE WERE DONE.

An entire generation started checking the mailbox like:

🦉 Maybe the owl is just REALLY late.

So find your robes.

Grab your wand.

Bring the friend who still knows exactly which Hogwarts house they belong to.

And prepare to go all the way back to where the magic started.

📣Just wanted to give you a quick update on some of the small upgrades we have been working on at the Cinema! There are still many more bigger things to come! The biggest one that we were shooting for was new seats. However, due to a rather large commercial air unit going out in the middle of summer, the seats have unfortunately had to take a back seat💺

We definitely still plan to replace them at some point and at the very least try and get cupholders installed. But we absolutely could no go without air, so that had to take priority for now. We hope you are enjoying a cold cinema on these hot days!

We are always pouring back into the business as we are able, and your support allows that to happen, so thank you 🤗 Our ultimate goal is to create a family friendly environment that you can be proud to call your home town Cinema. With the previous neglect of the theater we have had to start with the small stuff. These are just some of the little things we hope will make the experience better for our customers:

🎟Installed new Digital Cinema projectors in both houses. Correcting the light output issues of previous years.
🎟New website with the ability for online ticket and concessions sales.
🎟New POS system and new ticketing terminals. We have 2 more terminals on the way to allow for multiple lines to get you to your movie faster.
🎟New booster seats for the kiddos, just arrived today!!
🎟New baby changing station. Can't believe this wasn't a thing before!
🎟New commercial air conditioning units. And before you ask, no our lease does not pay to replace them. It is at our expense and it was a hefty expense for sure.
🎟New sconce shades to allow for more ambient lighting and reduce glare on the screen.
🎟New concessions and candy offerings including trendy items like Dirty Sodas, Boba drinks, takis, frozen coffee and more!
🎟Classic movie night with throwback movies, free summer kids series, extended hours and more showtimes.

On the way:
💡New larger, faster popper on the way, expected by the holiday season. We have refurbished the current one as well and it's working much better now. The new one will bring the ability to offer flavored popcorn!
💡Paint! Soon we will be adding a much needed fresh coat of paint.
💡Digital signage and menus for concessions that integrate with our POS.
💡Cinema floor lighting
💡And of course the ultimate goal is new seats! Now looking more like a 2nd year upgrade but we will get there!

Thank you for all of the positive comments, suggestions, support and encouragement we have received since taking the cinema on. Your enthusiasm to see the theater thrive again is what keeps us doing what we do! We hope to see you at the movies 🎬

🎬 WE’RE GOING BACK… AND WE’RE GOING BACK TO SAVE FERRIS. 😎

Back to 1986, when one teenager woke up, looked at school, and basically said:

Absolutely not.

And then proceeded to have a more productive day than most of us have had all year.

Ferris calls in sick.

Ferris steals Cameron.

Ferris gets Sloane out of school.

Ferris acquires a Ferrari he has NO BUSINESS BEING ANYWHERE NEAR.

And then this maniac manages to:

⚾ Attend a Cubs game.
🍽️ Become the Sausage King of Chicago.
🎨 Have an existential crisis at an art museum.
🎤 Hijack a parade.
💃 Perform for approximately half the population of Illinois.
🏃 Race across town on foot.
🏠 And STILL make it home before his parents.

Meanwhile, Cameron is experiencing 17 years of therapy in one afternoon.

Rooney is fighting for his life in somebody’s backyard.

And the Ferrari…

WE ARE NOT READY TO TALK ABOUT THE FERRARI. 🚗💀

Yet somehow the entire town is worried about Ferris.

SAVE FERRIS?!

FROM WHAT?!

Ferris is doing AMAZING.

SAVE CAMERON.

SAVE ROONEY’S DIGNITY.

SAVE THAT POOR DAMN FERRARI.

But fine.

The signs are printed.

The water tower has spoken.

The people have demanded it.
