You know what doesn’t get enough credit?

Starting over in the middle of something.

We tend to think a fresh start has to happen on a Monday, the first of the month, or after some big life-changing moment.

It doesn’t.

If your morning sucked, start the day over at noon.
If yesterday didn’t go the way you wanted, don’t drag it into today.
If you’ve been off your game lately, you don’t need some grand plan to get yourself back on track.

Just make the next decision a better one.

Because sometimes a fresh start isn’t a new day, a new week or a new chapter.

Sometimes it’s just a random Tuesday afternoon when you finally say:

“Alright. Enough of that s**t. Let’s try this again.” ❤️

Twenty-five years ago today, America experienced one of its darkest mornings.

For those of us old enough to remember September 11th, 2001, there are images, sounds and moments from that day that will probably never leave us.

But there was something else we saw that day.

We saw people run toward danger when every instinct told them to run away.

Firefighters climbed stairs while everyone else was coming down. Police officers, paramedics and ordinary people helped complete strangers. Passengers aboard Flight 93 fought back knowing what it might cost them.

And in the days afterward, people showed up for one another.

That's worth remembering, too.

Because Never Forget shouldn't only mean remembering what was done to us.

It should mean remembering what we were capable of doing for each other.

Twenty-five years later, an entire generation has grown up knowing September 11th only as history. So those of us who remember it have another responsibility now: to tell the stories. Not only of tragedy, but of courage, compassion, sacrifice and service.

Today, remember the lives that were lost.
Remember the people who ran toward the danger.

And maybe honor them in the simplest way possible: Be a little kinder. Help somebody who needs it. Look out for your neighbor.

Because one of the most powerful things September 11th taught us was just how much we need one another.

We remember. We honor. We never forget.

🚬 4:20 SMOKE BREAK — Back To Reality Edition Post Labor Day

Labor Day is over. The unofficial end of summer has arrived.

So today’s Smoke Break: What’s the hardest thing to get back into after a long weekend?

Is it getting up when the alarm goes off?
Going back to work?
Packing lunches again?
Remembering what day it is?

Or just accepting the horrifying realization that apparently we're expected to wear real pants again?

Because a three-day weekend is just long enough for your brain to completely adapt to its new lifestyle.

Day one: This is nice.
Day two: I could get used to this.
Day three: You know what? I don't think I'm going back.

Then Tuesday shows up like: “Hey as***le. Alarm goes off at six.” 😂

So that's today's 4:20 Smoke Break: After a long weekend, what's the hardest thing for YOU to get back into?

Here’s your Labor Day weekend reminder: You don’t have to earn your rest.

You don’t have to finish every project first.

The garage can stay messy. The laundry will survive another day. The yard does not need to look like you’re expecting an inspection.

And that list of things you’ve been meaning to get done? It’ll still be there Tuesday.

We spend so much of our lives measuring a good day by how much we accomplished that sometimes we forget doing absolutely nothing can be part of a good day, too.

So sometime this long weekend, give yourself permission to waste a little time.

Sit outside. Take the long way home. Have another cup of coffee. Go somewhere just because you feel like it.

Or take a nap at two in the afternoon with absolutely no intention of being productive afterward.

Labor Day is literally named after work. Seems like a pretty good excuse to do a little less of it.

DAILY DOSE OF INSPIRATION - September 03, 2026

“You don’t need a new life. Sometimes you just need a new way of looking at the one you already have.”

It’s easy to get stuck thinking happiness is waiting somewhere up ahead.

When the job changes.
When there’s more money.
When things calm down.
When you finally get your act together.

But while you’re waiting for everything to become different, there’s a whole lot of life happening right now.

Maybe today doesn’t need some giant transformation. Maybe it just needs you to notice something good you’ve been overlooking — a person who makes you laugh, a song you love, five quiet minutes with your coffee, or the fact that something you once worried about constantly… somehow worked itself out.

Not every better life requires a big change. Sometimes it starts with appreciating the life that’s already yours.

DAILY DOSE OF INSPIRATION - September 02, 2026

“You’re allowed to outgrow things you once worked really hard to get.”

That can be a job. A goal. A friendship. A version of your life you once thought would make you happy.

Sometimes we hang onto things because we remember how badly we once wanted them.

But the person who wanted that thing isn’t necessarily the person you are today.

Changing your mind doesn’t erase the work you put in. Moving on doesn’t mean it was a mistake. Sometimes getting where you thought you wanted to go is exactly how you discover where you actually belong.

We give ourselves permission to grow toward things all the time.

Maybe we should get a little better at giving ourselves permission to grow away from them, too.

You don't owe your past self the rest of your future just because they had a plan.

And that's your Daily Dose of Inspiration. ❤️

When was the last time you did something for the first time?

Not because you needed to.
Not because it was productive, responsible, or going to make you a better person.

Just because you wondered what it would be like.

Somewhere along the way, adulthood gets really good at turning life into a list of things we already know how to do.

We drive the same roads. Order the same food. Listen to the same music. Talk to the same people. And eventually, without realizing it, we can make our worlds pretty small.

So try something you might be terrible at.

Take the different road. Order the thing you can't pronounce. Learn something completely useless. Go somewhere you've never been. Ask the question.

You don't have to reinvent your life.

Just occasionally remind yourself that there are still things in it you haven't discovered yet.

DAILY DOSE OF INSPIRATION - August 31, 2026

You know what we don't give ourselves enough credit for?

The stuff we handle that nobody else ever sees.

The mornings you got up when you really didn't feel like it. The problems you solved without making a big announcement about them. The times you were worried, overwhelmed or completely winging it…and somehow still managed to get everybody where they needed to be and do what needed to be done.

We tend to measure ourselves by the big accomplishments — promotions, awards, milestones, things you can actually point to.

But sometimes success is a lot quieter than that.

Sometimes it's paying the bills.
Keeping your word.
Showing up for somebody.
Trying again after yesterday went completely sideways.

Or simply getting through a difficult season without becoming someone you don't particularly like.

So if you've been looking around lately thinking everybody else seems to have their life figured out while you're just making it up as you go…

Here's today's reminder:

Most of us are making it up as we go.

You're probably handling more than you give yourself credit for.

And you don't need some giant accomplishment today to prove you're moving forward.

Sometimes showing up and doing the next right thing is enough. ❤️
