This is what the winter/ice storm is giving us. Trees being weighed down from the ice accumulation. That is the problem dealt to PNM with the power outages. Lost power for a bit but it is back on. Thanks to all of the PNM crew out there and road crews clearing a path!

We will be closed today due to the winter weather. Be careful out there. Lots of power outages due to trees being brought down by the accumulating ice. Thank you to the Village of Ruidoso, PNM, NMDOT, and all first responders out there taking care of us!

Folks, if you’re on the fence about making the trip up the hill for Thanksgiving weekend don’t be.

Temps dipped down enough last night for Dorgan to start making snow at Winter Park (and the forecast shows plenty more cold nights ahead). Funtrackers will be open Friday–Sunday, Ski Apache picked up a little snow a few days ago and I’m sure they’ve been making. It’s also time for the annual party on the mountain on Saturday and it’s a great way to kick off the winter season. Backcountry Attitudes SXS rentals is in full swing, it’s better than hiking folks!

The Inn of the Mountain Gods has options for all ages and it’s a great excuse to get that built-in babysitting mother-in-law up here for a couple days.

The Village fires up ice skating and the Christmas Light showcase this weekend as well. Midtown’s walking district is loaded with shopping, food/drink options and as always we encourage you to step outside the norm and explore what’s just outside that beaten path.

Sun up to sun up, we’ve got it all folks and we’re just as awesome as we ever were.
