Beautiful trail to Cassidy Arch then back down to the campground. Check out the photo of the group including kids about to repel into the Arch. Not my cup of tea. When you get to the arch you are actually above it.

I am excited to share that Bates Cairn #2 has been selected for Quilt Visions by jurors CAROLYN DUCEY, JUSTIN MING YONG, and DAVID VAN BUSKIRK.

Quilt Visions 2026 will be on display at VMOTA (Visions Museum of Textile Art) in San Diego, from October 23, 2026, to January 16, 2027.

Great hike in the Bisti Badlands in western New Mexico. The hoodoos are incredible. We might as well have been in a Star Wars Movie.

I now have 19 greeting cards featuring my National Park art quilts—designed in the style of the historic WPA-era National Park posters. These were previously only available at my quilt guild workshops, and now they’re open to everyone.
Each card is 5.5” x 8.5”, comes with an envelope, and is perfect for sending, collecting, or framing.

I turned my pup Quark into a lino cut—and now he’s on a mug! ❤️🐶

He’s popping out of a heart on the front, and on the back it says “I Love My Human”… because that’s really what every dog wants.

I am very excited to have thought to try my old tile press from my pottery studio to do printing of my linoleum blocks. It worked great. I had such even ink transfer, and it was so much faster than rubbing with a baron or a spoon. 🥳🤩

We did it outside in the wind just to try it out, but now that it works we've moved the press inside and I'll be using it for everything from now on. 💨🏡

It is so nice not to have to buy a new piece of equipment and repurpose something I already had on hand. 👍😊

I have also just set up and opened my Etsy shop. Where I have all my lino prints, my national park art quilt cards and my patterns. So please check it out. 🛍️🎨

I just thought I'd share some of the four different projects I worked on during my artist-in-residency at Canyons of the Ancients National Monument. Southwest Colorado Canyons Alliance funded the residency and housed me at a lovely place in McElmo Canyon called Ancient Echoes at Kelly's Place. I had a one-room casita with everything I needed to cook my meals and do my art. It looked right out at the canyon walls and was adjacent to the national monument. https://www.kellyplace.com/

Keep posted to see what I do to finish all of these projects. Meanwhile, I have started on a poster-style art quilt of one of the scenes from Sand Canyon within the monument, as my donation artwork to the park for hosting my residency.

I am so excited to share that I have been selected as an Artist in Residence at the Canyons of the Ancients National Monument. 🎨👩‍🎨

This monument in southwestern Colorado protects the highest density of archaeological sites in the U.S., with over 8,300 recorded sites like cliff dwellings, kivas, and petroglyphs, representing over 10,000 years of human history, primarily from 0 one of my national park poster style art quilts.

There are many trails to hike, offering access to a multitude of ancient sites and the chance to listen to echoes in the canyon as the wind moves through. 🥾

I look forward to this time of focus during this residency. I will try to blog about the experience if wifi is good.
