Dock Ellis Records A new Psychedelic oriented record label based in Detroit, Leeds and Harrogate. Since I set up the page there is only room for the US address. More on that later.

There will be a UK address based in Harrogate/Leeds. Three good friends decide we want to put out records. We all love love music, especially all things psychedelic. We also come at it from two different angles. One more pop oriented, one veering to the heavier side of psych music. We also have friends influencing us who are Dead Heads, Shoegaze fans, Stoner Rock afficianados and 70's LA sound(Nei

l Young, CSNY, Flying Burrito Brothers/Gram Parsons) and everything in between. The label is also an homage to Dock Ellis who is the only pitcher who ever did, and ever will, pitch a no hitter while tripping on acid. Right smack in the wheelhouse of these baseball loving psychedelic music fans.

This week the world lost one of its great unsung musical heroes in the form of Pat Fish, the Jazz Butcher.

A genuinely lovely guy who seemed to have time for everyone. His influence is hard to measure but ask the likes of anyone involved in Spacemen 3 for starters and they'll tell you.

Ian Edmond and myself interviewed him a couple of times recently for our podcast, including less than a week before his tragic death. He was funny, friendly and seemed to want to keep on chatting even though we finished the interview.

People like Pat are rare and I feel privileged to have spent even a little time talking to him.

RIP Pat. We miss you but your influence will last forever.

Here's the superb 'Leaving Trunk' by Taj Mahal, a tune that was a huge influence on the music from the movie Performance, one of our favourites. A quick check in on 'Poor White Hound Dog' from the film's soundtrack shows why Taj Mahal was so important. Apparently this what was playing when they filmed that scene.
