Clairefontaine PastelMat and PastelGrain are professional-grade pastel papers with a velvety tooth, strong layering capability, solvent compatibility, and protective glassine interleaving. Both support vibrant color, minimal dust, and clean coverage of light over dark.
PastelMat features a finer micro-tooth for smoother blending, sharp details, and easier revisions, while PastelGrain offers a rougher surface that accepts more layers and supports bold color application throughout the painting process.
