The Suburban Hockey Foundation contributes to the growth of hockey in Michigan by providing financial support and assistance to hockey families and programs in need.
We currently have three grant applications open:
The Assist Grant for Girls Hockey Players. Made possible through a partnership with the NHL Foundation U.S. and Megan Keller, this grant provides financial assistance to families facing sudden or significant hardship that may impact a player’s ability to participate in hockey. Applications will be accepted through September 11, 2026, and grant recipients will be notified by October 2, 2026.
The Assist: This grant was created to provide financial assistance for families in need. Hardships may include but are not limited to: death of a family member, major accident, acute illness, loss of a job, etc. Applications are now open and will be received until September 11, 2026. Recipients of a 2026-27 grant will be notified by October 16, 2026.
The Megan Keller Growing Girls Hockey Grant: The Suburban Hockey Foundation is proud to help facilitate the Megan Keller Endowment Fund program to provide grant awards to 8U and 10U female hockey programs in Michigan. The grant is to be used exclusively to develop programs focused on increasing female youth participation in hockey by alleviating costs around ice and equipment, advertising and marketing, and overall development. Applications are now open and will be received until September 25, 2026. The recipient will be notified by October 23, 2026.
