These RAC Exhibiting Members were honored for their acrylic and oil paintings in the Annual Sponsored Awards show: Michael Brennecke of Westport for "Black Forest" (1st Place/first image), Max Wiesen of Greenwich for "The Raven" (2nd Place/second image) and Gretchen Bruno of Darien for "Simply Elliot" (3rd Place/third image) and Gwendolyn Morris of Stamford for "Two Peruvian Men" (Honorable Mention/fourth image). LOVE IS IN THE AIR! Congrats to RAC Instructor Felicia Feldman who is now engaged to Tim Coupe (here's the happy couple right outside the gallery) with a wedding planned later this summer. The two met when he took her Thursday night painting class just over a year ago in our studio! :)

Happy to report that this sweet little oil painting, "Smell the Flowers" by Darien artist Elizabeth Lefevre, will go to a new home after the Annual Sponsored Awards show ends on June 14 (as a gift to a cat lover who owns a similar kitty!) PARADE CANCELLED - the stormy weather forecast has caused the cancellation of Rowayton's Memorial Day Parade on Sunday, May 24! Commemoration at the Rowayton United Methodist Church at 12:00. Please join us to honor our veterans. Thanks to Lynne Pratt and her committee for this wonderful annual tradition (this year's fence sign with scenes from prior parades here)

Westport artist Miggs Burroughs was awarded Best in Show for "Puppetry" in the Annual Sponsored Awards show – Judge Joseph Fucigna called the piece "a playful and provocative lenticular photograph that comments on race relations while asking viewers to consider whether the puppet’s behavior is really an extension of the puppet master."
