Day is Done
lemon sky was founded in LA in 1997. It continues to exist as a virtual space, presenting a wide arr That's always how I envisioned it. There is no space.
lemon sky was first established in Los Angeles in 1997, by Jane Hart. For the first four years, over twenty exhibitions were held in her Hollywood Hills space. During that time, work by various artists were exhibited at lemon sky: a project space, including Fabian Marcaccio, Peter Doig, Charles LaBelle, Tim Hailand, Alyson Shotz, Colin Cook, Carlos Mollura, Dwayne Moser, Robert Overby, David Shafe
r James Welling and numerous others. Simultaneously (for five years) Hart was a founding director and curator for ground breaking fine arts publisher Muse [X] Editions. In 2001, Hart opened lemon sky: projects + editions, a commercial gallery space and editions publisher, located on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. Solo exhibits were presented by Cindy Bernard, Jessica Bronson, Steven Criqui, ChanSchatz, Dara Friedman, Violet Hopkins, T. Kelly Mason, Dwayne Moser, Kim Schoenstadt, Alyson Shotz and Bruce Yonemoto among others. Various artists primarily from New York and Los Angeles were both published and exhibited. In 2003 Hart relocated to Miami, to establish lemon sky: projects + editions there, closing the Los Angeles gallery location. Since that time she has organized a program of exhibitions in varying locations, featuring unique works and editions by both established, blue chip, as well as emerging artists. Jane Hart has over twenty years of professional experience and expertise; active within the contemporary art field in New York, Los Angeles, London and Miami. She has worked with many major artists on exhibitions, special projects, publications and editions, including Doug Aitken, John Baldessari, Wallace Berman (Estate), Uta Barth, Jennifer Bolande, Gregory Crewdson, Peter Halley, Alex Katz, Mike Kelley, Ed and Nancy Kienholz, Charles Long, Christian Marclay, Fabian Marcaccio, Catherine Opie, Diana Thater and Andrea Zittel among many others. After several years, I thought it would be nice to create a fb page for lemon sky. The website has been up all this time, but I have not really focused on it. Lemon sky: projects + editions is more of a state of creative possibility, than a specific place...though there have been many. It was never about becoming a rich and/or powerful gallery, even though just before I closed it, my partner and I had an offer of backing from Ivan Wirth (of Hauser Wirth) himself..... A little known fact that's ancient history now. There are still editions that we published, that are available, as well as select inventory. It exists only as a cyber space now (since 2006) though visitors to my place are welcome by special invitation and appointment only. lemon sky was/is another (major) chapter, in a life, my life, for most part that has been devoted to art and artists. I hope you'll "like" to reminisce, or discover, or to share. Thanks!!!! by appointment only.

great birthday with .constant.duit .greenwood!!!!
Two years with my most precious Ella!!! Constant companion, fierce protector, snuggle bug, and dearest sweetheart!!!
A year has gone by, since this photo taken on my birthday 2021. With it a lot of changes. My beloved mother leaving these earthly realms, for her next destination. A new grand-nephew (first of the next generation in our family!)
Health challenges now being much more soundly addressed and an awakened shift in motivation to get even more healthy. I love living here in the Catskills, and want to take greater advantage of all the incredible natural beauty that is so abundant in our region.
Louis, Ella and I have expanded our domestic circle to include Simon, longtime family member, who has so been great to have living here!
I want to thank all of my friends who've expressed, love, support, soul nourishment, often brilliant creativity, your travels, your families and friends.
In spite of the cons inherent to this platform, I still truly enjoy connecting to you here each day!!
Here's to

UPSTATE ART WEEKEND 2022!!! July 22-24
pop-up "summertime hues"
Commemorating the 3rd annual Upstate Art Weekend, lemon sky projects presents an exhibition of contemporary artists primarily living in the Hudson Valley. Established to emerging artists' work are included-- showing painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, masonry, collage, and performance. The exhibit is presented in a freestanding jewel box studio which has been transformed into a pop-up gallery, with works also situated in the adjacent rambling garden. The setting is located in a bucolic location atop a high peak in Kingston.
The exhibition theme embraces joie de vivre, an attitude emanating from these artists, all living in the sylvan setting of the Catskill region. An aesthetic interplay imbues the show with a vibrant dialog-- rough hewn bricolage approaches, counterbalancing more refined techniques--an explosion of color and textures.
Participating Artists: TJ Ahearn, Jesse Bransford, Judith Braun, Colby Cannon, Susan Carr, Chris Costan, Anne Devine, Louis Constant Duit, Phyllis Galembo, Tommy Grenas, Clarity Haynes, Lisa Kirk, Anne Leith, Carmen Lizardo, Dylan Musler, Michael Rodriguez, Karen Schifano, Melissa Stern, Diane Tenerelli, Jonathan Williams
I don't believe any woman is truly pro abortion but are rather (Having gone through the experience myself, I can say that it was absolute hell, and something that still haunts me these decades later.) I am 100% firm in my belief that all women deserve the right to determine what they do with their own bodies. Now we will have government mandated births-- in some instances in the face of physical risk and/or related trauma, such as r**e or in**st. Trmp SCOTUS picks basically lied during their confirmation hearings.

UPSTATE ART WEEKEND 2022!!!
Jane & Jane
A toast to my mother with the best of friends at The Maker. A perfect celebration, reflecting her eternal elegance and style. With first class service (by John, John and Tommy -- all front of house, and Gabby our server), and the most delectable meal any of us have had in a long time. To life! L'Chaim!
Thank you to everyone for your love, kindness, and sympathy. My mother was a rare and complex woman, who possessed immense talent, intelligence, and wit. Right up to the last time I saw her face, she always had a twinkle in her eyes. Strong, and a fierce competitor (a big time tennis champion in her younger years before I was born), she was also very sweet and gentle. Beloved Susie, gave me so many gifts, handed down through her experience and presence. I would not have become an artist, but for her sharing her painting studio in our house in Nyack with me as a little child...creating a safe space of love, nurturing and creativity--instilling in me an affinity for art. Those of you who know me well, are aware of the more intimate details of her story -- and all who did have the privilege to meet her, held her in high esteem. She's in a much better place and finally at peace -- reunited with my dad, who was the love of her life.
