Spring River Zoo Welcome to the Spring River Zoo! We drive curiosity, foster a love of animals, and environmental conservation.

Private Tours start at $10 per person or $5 if you are a member of Friends of Spring River Zoo. NOTICE OF SOCIAL MEDIA PARTICIPATION POLICY

Examples of off-topic content which may be deleted or hidden include, without limitation:
• Solicitations of commerce or advertisements including promotion or endorsement.
• Comments of a sexual nature or links to obscene content.
• Personal insults and attacks, as distinguished from subject matter relevant criticism or dispute.
• Threats of violence or physical harm. In addition, the City reserves the right to eliminate or hide public comments which may violate the law or infringe the rights of others, such as:
• Violations of copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights.
• Comments disclosing personally identifiable information of third parties, such as address, phone number, Social Security number, or other sensitive personal information.
• Encouragement or solicitation of imminent unlawful conduct. Any comment posted on City social media accounts by anyone other than an authorized City staff member acting on behalf of the City, is the opinion of the commentator or poster only. Publication of a comment or post does not imply endorsement of or agreement by the City, nor do such comments necessarily reflect the opinions or policies of the City Council or Administration. The City does not guarantee the truth or accuracy of any information posted by members of the public. Public commenters and posters are fully and solely responsible for the content they submit. Users participate at their own risk and are personally responsible for their own comments, username, and any information provided. The City disclaims any responsibility or liability for advertisements, videos, promoted content, links, posts or comments posted by visitors to its pages. Any comments or postings submitted to City social media sites may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act found in NMSA 1978 § 14-2-1 et seq. As the weather gets warmer, it’s the perfect time to get outside and explore! ☀️🌿

Come spend the day with us at the Spring River Zoo! Stroll the pathways, visit your favorite animals, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon in one of Roswell’s favorite outdoor spaces.

Pack a picnic, bring the kids, and make it a fun family outing. We can’t wait to see you at the Zoo! 🦬🐇🦝🌳

Spring River Zoo, at 1306 E. College Blvd., is open each day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with last entry at 3 p.m.

Zoo admission is FREE for everyone!

Spring River Zoo will be closed Monday, Feb. 16, for the Presidents' Day holiday.

Spring River Zoo will be closed Monday, Feb. 16, for the Presidents' Day holiday.

City administration offices and certain other city facilities will be closed Monday, Feb. 16, in observance of Presidents’ Day. Some city services will have an adjusted schedule for that Monday or that week.

In addition to city offices, the Roswell Recreation and Aquatic Center, Roswell Public Library, and Spring River Zoo will be closed on Presidents’ Day. The Roswell Visitor Center will have its holiday closure Tuesday, Feb. 17, since its regular weekly schedule includes being closed Mondays.

Nancy Lopez Golf Course at Spring River will be open on Presidents’ Day.

City bus service and trash pickup will be altered because of the holiday.

Roswell Transit will have buses in operation that Monday, but for less hours than usual. The buses will run on Main Street from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call-in requests for pickup on side streets will also be available that day.

The Solid Waste Department’s trash pickup for the week of Feb. 16 has been adjusted. Areas normally picked up Monday will be picked up Tuesday. Areas normally picked up Tuesday will be picked up Wednesday. The landfill will be closed Monday, Feb. 16.

Spring River Zoo will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

City administration offices and certain other city facilities will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The following week, closures will also be in effect for another day as the city will observe the New Year’s Day holiday.

In addition to city offices, the Roswell Recreation and Aquatic Center, Roswell Public Library, and Spring River Zoo will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

The Nancy Lopez Golf Course at Spring River will be closed Christmas Day, but will be open Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day.

The Roswell Visitor Center will be closed for a more extended period during the holidays as the building will be undergoing renovations. The Visitor Center will close Dec. 19 at noon and remain closed until it reopens Dec. 30. It will also be closed New Year’s Day.

City bus service will be altered because of the holidays. Roswell Transit will not operate buses on Christmas Day. Buses will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day. Call-in pickup requests for stops on streets other than Main Street will also be available those two days as usual.

The Solid Waste Department’s residential trash collection for Christmas week and New Year’s week will be altered because of the holidays. On Christmas week, trash pickups that normally occur Thursday will be done Friday, Dec. 26. Pickups that normally occur Friday will be done Saturday, Dec. 27. On New Year’s week, pickups that normally occur Thursday will be done a day early on Wednesday, Dec. 31. The landfill will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as well as New Year’s Day.

Got leftover pumpkins? Donate them to the zoo! Our animals would love them as enrichment treats during the holidays.
