First flower! A sign that the season will be slowly winding down. But it’s not over yet! Last scheduled workshop is at the Patchogue Arts Council on September 20th, 12-2. I will post the link to register when available.

After some trials and tribulations, my Dahlia piece “It Takes Many Petals” is finally done. She will be on exhibition at the Woman Sharing Art show Dahlia Inspirations at the Bayard Cutting Arboretum. See the art then see what inspired us in the Dahlia Garden. Reception is August 23rd from 1-4. I’ll be gallery sitting on September 12 from 11-4. To see my piece in its entirety click on the image. Of course it is all dyed with natural indigo.

Join us Friday, July 31st, 5 - 8PM for the Artist Reception at our Main Street Gallery. All are welcome to attend!

The Huntington Arts Council invited artists to participate in Field Notes: Experimental Practices in Nature, Juried by Christine Donnelly. This exhibition sought work inspired by the natural world, with an emphasis on experimentation, material exploration, and expressive approaches. We were looking to move beyond the traditional landscape. Artists were invited to submit pieces that reflect a deep personal engagement with nature and the creative process. This is an exploration of the organic as a medium and a muse for experimental inquiry.

My first workshop of the season at the fabulous Bayard Cutting Arboretum hosted by the Horticulture Society. It was a full house! So some women took advantage of the heavy rain and rinsed their scarves under the overflowing gutter. That was a first.
