I invented a new word for my latest article.

Befuddlery (noun)

Definition:

1. A state or condition of being confused or perplexed.
2. Actions, situations, or behaviors that cause confusion or bewilderment.

Usage in a sentence:

"The teacher's explanation of the complex theory left the students in a state of befuddlery."
"His constant changing of plans led to much befuddlery among his friends."
Etymology:
Derived from the verb "befuddle," meaning to confuse or perplex, combined with the suffix "-ery," indicating a state, condition, or practice.

One of the songs we’ll be singing this Sunday is Word of God Speak by MercyMe:

“Word of God speak, would you pour down like rain,
Washing my eyes to see Your Majesty
To be still and know that You’re in the place
Please let me stay and rest in Your holiness”

The song is partly based on 2 Timothy 3:16 which reads, “All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”

Sometimes we get so full of ourselves, thinking ourselves wise with our pop culture remedies for mental and spiritual health, that we fail to hear God speaking to us. What we really needed to do is just simply shut up and listen! But how do we know when God is speaking to us or what he is saying? How do we recognize his voice?

There is only one good answer. We must read, study and meditate on the Word of God. The Bible is how God chose to reveal Himself to us, the church. If we want to know God, we have to know Scripture. Whenever I read God’s Word, it helps me to know Him better; what His character is like. I begin to recognize who He is, and that allows me to recognize His voice more clearly.

God has so much to say to you that far surpasses the so-called wisdom of this world. Relationships require communication in order to flourish and He desires to have a relationship with us. That’s why Christ came to die for our sins; that’s why God inspired the prophets and apostles to write down His Word; that’s why the Holy Spirit was sent and takes up residence inside us when we turn our lives over to Christ. God reveals Himself to us through His Word, by the Holy Spirit speaking directly into our hearts.

1 Corinthians 2:11-12 reads, “No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.”

So when was the last time you spent any time in the Word? Perhaps today would be a good day to get back into it. After all, the Creator of the universe wants to have a relationship with you. Pray; read; pray; then live out your life according to the wisdom of His Word. Word of God speak!

In John 1:16 it say, "From his abundance we have all received one gracious blessing after another." the King James versions describes it as Grace for Grace. No matter how bad we mess things up, Christ loves us unconditionally and offers us true salvation through his sacrifice on the cross; which is to say we have been rescued from eternal death and have been adopted into the family of God.

A new arrangement of Jesus Loves Me with some added lyrics. The original lyrics were written in 1860 and included in a novel called Say and Seal. In the story, it was sung to a dying child to provide comfort in his last hours.
