The Sweet Story of Sugar Lips
June 2013 and CYT Sacramento was planning our first fundraiser event. Co-Founder David Enns announced “My neighbor is an artist and she’s offered to donate artwork to our silent auction!” On the day of the event we gawked at this "real piece of work” as it sat boldly on a swath of black velvet, staring deep into our souls. Finally, someone uttered “I’d pay money NOT to take that thing home.” And the tradition of bidding to make sure Sugar Lips went home with someone else was born. Judge if you must, but lil’ Sugar Lips has raised more money to support CYT than any peaceful landscape painting ever could. She’s the gift that keeps on giving.

We are officially in the final countdown to 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐲: 𝐀 𝐘𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐭 𝐑𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚! 🛥

One week from tonight, we'll be slipping into our best yacht rock looks, soaking up the smooth tunes, enjoying some seriously good food, bidding on some incredible live and silent auction items, and raising money to help support theater arts education.

Labor Day weekend may be wrapping up summer, but we’re not putting away the sunglasses just yet. 😎⚓
