After much research and trial and error, here is..

Pinto Beans in the Instant Pot.

1 lb. dried pinto beans unsoaked, WELL SORTED and washed.
Place in the pot with
1 medium onion, roughly chopped
A few cloves of garlic to your taste, roughly chopped
1/2 tsp black peppercorns
8 cups of water
Be sure the pot is set to seal not vent
Cook on high heat for 30 minutes
Allow the pot to do natural release..aprox 20-25 minutes

Note: I've added no salt in this recipe to allow for sodium control
in the dishes I make with the finished beans. Some say that salt can effect bean texture and overall cooking time as well.

These beans can then be used as a base for lots delicious
dishes such as...

Refried beans, burritos, bean soup, etc.

If anyone actually tries this recipe, please let me know how it turned out.

The Fleischer Bros Cartoons return to the Rosendale Theatre on Friday evening, January 19, 2024. Join us again for a celebration of the legendary Fleischer Studios and enjoy another block of newly restored cartoons featuring Betty Boop, Popeye the Sailor, Koko the Clown and more!

The upcoming January show will present different restored cartoons from the Fleischer Brothers oeuvre. These brand new restorations are sourced from the UCLA Film & Television Archives and original film elements from the Paramount Archives.

Stay after the show for a special Q&A with Jack Theakston to learn about the restoration efforts being done to save these wonderful pieces of art.

This show has everything for the connoisseur of vintage, classic Fleischer art; for the animation maker or enthusiast; and for the eternal youth in all of us.
