We had a celebration for our two children’s books: Tree of Seven Sisters and Cloud Story. The books are published by Halo Publishing International and are available online.

We had a great turnout and raised $1,075 for the Minnesota Land Trust. Their mission of loving nature was a good fit!

A cat’s nap
On a cold winter’s day
Gray, white, and brown
The striped fur blends

The fabric chair sits
The pillow white with colored lines
Reveals the curled-up peace and quiet
Next to an old, brown baby grand

The strings are quiet
No hammers striking
No player pushing keys
In the warm room

The sun shines in
Light on the wall
Moved from the nap
Charcoal shadows of the shades

Diagonal lines like a piano’s strings
And the pillow
And the gray, white, and brown blending fur
And a cold winter’s day

The circumstances
Right for this choice
A good one for this moment
Catnapping
