A majority of you know me for the work I do here and for this industry. Some of you know that outside of this I have been wrenching on cars for most of my life. At one point I was even invovled with building some pretty crazy cars. One of those cars was and R8 for Kyle. Admittedly, I am not to involved with the drag racing world, I had heard of 1320video but I didn't really follow it. I told Kyle that even while working on his car. One of the days he was in town just so happened to be my birthday. Kyle and Matt asked what my plans were, and as someone who never likes to celebrate birthdays it was the usual, nothing really just come to work and go home, it was just another day. They didn't accept that, they took it upon themselves to throw a little party at the shop that afternoon, for me, a kid who didnt know who they were a week prior to this. I think that speaks volumes as to who Kyle was. After the car was built, we kept in minimal contact, a Facebook comment or random message here and there. That didn't change the impact left because of this gesture. Kyle was not and has not ever been the 1320video guy to me. He was someone who's dream I got to help make a reality and more importantly someone I was fortunate to call a friend. I am one small story out of thousands. I can not imagine what everyone is feeling right now, the world has lost a great one. If this news is heavy and hard to deal with, I hope you know the racing community and car community as a whole is here for you, call a friend, share a story, and be there for each other in these difficult times.
